On the one hand I think we shouldn't get too serious about all this... On the other hand, if the intention (as stated on the SA Blog Awards site) is to raise the profile of SA blogging in SA and the world, then we should show off quality. Maybe need some clear criteria as to what constitutes a good blog. Popularity does not equate to quality, by any means. Yes to all of the above regarding the selection process.
