Grim Furdango week..

• Monday, woke up in Cape Town, gym, went to go look at the 1st edit of the Gust video, iStore, back to Stellenbosch, Trumpet Tree with Dawid.
• Tuesday, handed out Grim Furdango tickets in the Neelsie, early supper with Alex at Binnehof.
• Wednesday, morning podcast walk, Grim Furdango NFC tag enrollment at Trumpet Tree – and a live debugging session with some beer.
• 15 hour days, but having fun.
• Thursday, Gust testing at KLT, I presented a talk about Gust at the Mxit Q&A session, Trumpet Tree NFC tag enrolling.
• Launched the Gust Video.
• Friday, morning podcast walk, a bit of afternoon family time, Grim Furdango party at Klein Libertas Theatre – a big success.

• “Lived the tech startup dream last night – launch party with an awesome team and people loved using our product.” — me

• Saturday, Will’s Olympic birthday party with the family.
• Sunday, Blaauwklippen market with the family, Andrew and Alex, ended up taking Mia to the doctor for a sore throat, installed OSX 10.8, photo processing.

Yes, this post is late, I’ve been busy, the week of 16-22 July..

• Monday, email scrubbing, sunset podcast walk, more email scrubbing.
• I think I’m ready for winter to end now.
• Tuesday, Grim Furdango meeting, a walk around Stellenbosch with Alan.
• The attention crisis.
• This month is a bit crazy: building mobile payment apps supporting 3 OSs and NFC, making a video and throwing a launch party with 4 bands.
• Wednesday, podcast walk to Lanzerac, home affairs visit for a new passport, early supper with the family at Manuka, a drink with Al, Paul and Dennis at Trumpet Tree.
• Thursday, Gust demo day, Mxit Thursdays at Gino’s.
• Finished reading Sober is my new drunk by Paul Carr.
• Friday, work, watched some Game of Thrones.
• Saturday, gym, got a Samsung Galaxy S3, fetched Mia, calamari and oxtail at Casparus.
• Sunday, Blaauwklippen market, dropped Mia off, a quesadilla and some craft beers with Georg at Woodlands eatery.

• Monday, a beer with Conrad at Trumpet Tree, watched The girl with the dragon tattoo.. pretty good.
• Tuesday, afternoon podcast walk, I’ve discovered NSFW Live.
• Looks like I’ll be moving my last services away from Frogfoot soon.
• Wednesday, July HackSTB event, Mia visit.

• “friends, family, company, sleep, fitness… pick 3″ — Randi Zuckerberg

• Thursday, woke up in Somerset West, Gym, Gust meeting.
• Friday, morning podcast walk, joint birthday lunch at Waterkloof with Will, Naulene and family, Mia and Francis stayed over at my house.
• Francis must be Weet-Bix’s biggest fan.
• Saturday, helped out with the Gust video shoot in Stellenbosch, dropped Mia and Francis with Naulene, Stormers vs Rebels at Newlands with Werner, pasta and red wine (first meal I cooked at home I think), watched I Robot again.
• The Gust video should be done by the end of the month.
• Must be getting old, happy to be at home on a Saturday night with everything up to date, photography, backups, laundry…
• Sunday, my birthday brunch at Morgenster.. good turnout, thanks guys!, olive oil tasting, helped Naulene get her iPhone running, watched Shaun of the Dead again.

• Tuesday, a beer and Asian beef noodle soup at Trumpet Tree with Werner and Janette.
• Wednesday, my birthday, morning podcast walk to Lanzerac, birthday brinks at Osetra, dinner with Naulene at Tokara.
• Thursday, morning podcast walk, Gust meeting, a walk around Stellenbosch with Alan, got Naulene an iPhone, Mxit Thursdays at Gino’s.
• Friday, productive day, after work beer at De Akker.
• Where did this week go?

• “I live the way I type; fast, with a lot of mistakes.”

• Got Paul Carr’s new book on Kindle, Sober Is My New Drunk.
• Been using Pocket and Wonderlist more.
• Saturday, braai at Debby’s house, Paul’s birthday party at El Burro and Chukkachurri.
• Sunday, had a beer with Al at Bohemia, watched Zombieland.

Xmas in Winter..

• Monday, work, work, work and some press release writing.
• Tuesday, more press release writing.
• Wednesday, meetings.
• Gust and TrustFabric in the news this week: Bandwidth Blog, HumanIPO, Gadget, VentureBurn, Gadget.
• Thursday, gym, meetings, work, Mxit Thursdays at Gino’s.
• Friday, meetings, drove to Tulbach with Mia and Francis.
• Saturday, Christmas in Winter in Tulbagh, Naulene and Marlyn joined us for a walk around Tulbagh and lunch at Paddagang, tree house climbing around the lake.
• Sunday, family lunch at Saronsberg, more tree house climbing and we made a cozy fire.
• I finished reading Mobinomics. I think Chapter 10 was the most interesting. What’s the device our children will be obsessed about as teenagers? I had a 386 PC which got hours and hours of attention. More recently kids had feature phones. What’s the next device?
